Who Are We?

We are a group of like minded individuals with a goal to gain and share knowledge about robots and how they work. Our Robotics program is very new, having started in 2015, but we have already participated in a multitude of VEX State and World competitions. The mission of our Robotics team is to help solve the global STEM crises. The world has an unprecedented need for innovators, thinkers and problem solving leaders. At Hillsboro Robotics we work to immerse students in STEM through the excitement of creating and programming robots. Students in our program will be given an arsenal of knowledge that they will be able to use to help solve real world problems.

Our School

Hillsboro Robotics resides at Hillsboro City Schools in Hillsboro, Ohio. Our school is a small high school with around 1000 students in total. If you wish to learn more about our school you may visit its website by clicking here. Without the allocated funding by Hillsboro City Schools we would not have been able to accomplish what we have.

What is VEX?

VEX Robotics is a large company that runs competitions for young students around the world. There are three divisions of competitions that are meant for different age groups and skill levels. These are VEX EDR, VEX U and VEX IQ. VEX EDR is for middle school and high school students, VEX U is for university students, and and VEX IQ is for elementary and middle school students. Each year students are given challenges and they must design, build, and code a robot to complete the challenges to the best of their ability. These challenges are often performed against other bots according to the rules of that year's challenges released during the VEX World Champtionship. This year's game is called 'VEX Robotics Turning Point'. If you are interested in learning more about VEX you may visit the VEX website by clicking here.
